Terms of Service

Plain-language terms for hiring a hooklift bin through Adelaide Hooklift Bins.

1. Who we are

Adelaide Hooklift Bins is an online booking service for hooklift (RORO) bin hire across the Adelaide metropolitan area. Deliveries and collections are performed by contracted drivers. All communication is by email — we do not operate a phone line.

2. Quotes and bookings

Quotes are free and confirmed by email, normally within 2 business hours. A booking is confirmed only once we email you a written confirmation.

A valid credit card must be held on your account to confirm any booking. By confirming a booking you authorise us to charge this card for the hire price and any additional charges that arise under these terms.

3. Pricing and what's included

Published prices are GST inclusive and include delivery, a 7-day hire period, collection, and the stated disposal weight allowance for your bin size. There is no fuel levy.

Extended hire is available at $15 per day — email us before your hire period ends to arrange it.

4. Weight limits and overweight charges

Every bin has a 10-tonne maximum and an included disposal weight allowance shown at the time of booking. Bins are weighed at a licensed SA EPA disposal facility after collection.

Weight above your included allowance is charged at $340 per tonne (or part thereof), billed directly to the credit card on your account. We email you the weighbridge details together with your receipt.

5. Prohibited items

The following must never be placed in a bin: asbestos (any form), liquid waste, tyres, gas bottles, batteries, hazardous chemicals, e-waste (TVs, computers, monitors) and medical waste.

If prohibited items are found, the bin may be rejected at collection or at the disposal facility. Removal, decontamination, callout and re-delivery costs are payable by you and may be charged to the card on your account.

6. Site access and placement

You are responsible for providing safe, legal access: minimum 2.7m width and 4.0m overhead clearance for 9–20m³ bins, and 3.0m width with 4.5–5.0m clearance for 30–40m³ bins, on a flat, firm surface.

If a delivery fails because the site is inaccessible or unsafe, a failed-delivery callout fee applies. If you place a bin on a public road, footpath or verge, obtaining the required council permit is your responsibility.

7. Delivery times

Standard delivery is next business day across Adelaide metro, with 48 hours' notice preferred for a confirmed window. We use contracted drivers and cannot guarantee same-day delivery. Delivery windows are estimates, not guaranteed times.

8. Cancellations and changes

Bookings can be cancelled or changed by email at no cost before the bin is dispatched. Once a truck has been dispatched, a callout fee applies. Email us as early as possible if your plans change.

9. Liability

Bins are heavy equipment. We take reasonable care during delivery and collection, but we are not liable for damage to unsuitable surfaces (decorative driveways, pavers, soft ground) where placement was requested by you. Tell us about surface concerns before delivery and we can advise on protection such as timber boards.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms: admin@adelaidehookliftbins.com.au. We reply within 2 business hours (Mon–Fri 7am–5pm, Sat 8am–2pm).
