All bins have a 10-tonne maximum weight limit. Anything over your included weight costs $340 per tonne.

What costs extra
Most customers stay within their included price. But here's what can push costs up:
- Overweight waste: $340 per tonne for anything over your included limit
- Extra hire days: $15 per day if you need to keep the bin longer than 7 days
- Failed delivery callout: $250 if access issues prevent us reaching your site
- Late cancellation: free cancellation before dispatch; callout charge if cancelled after dispatch has begun
How to keep costs down
- Right-size your bin - a 15m³ Large is cheaper per cubic metre than a 9m³ Standard, and it's our most popular size for a reason
- Separate heavy materials - soil, concrete, and brick weigh far more per cubic metre; consider a dedicated bin for heavy waste if you have a lot
- Know your access - make sure your site meets clearance requirements (9–20m³ need 2.7m width and 4.0m overhead; 30–40m³ need 3.0m width and 4.5–5.0m overhead) to avoid the failed delivery fee
- Plan your hire period - seven days is standard; most jobs fit within this window without needing extensions
- Avoid prohibited waste - asbestos, liquid waste, tyres, gas bottles, batteries, hazardous chemicals, e-waste, and medical waste cannot go in the bin
Hooklift bin vs skip bin: cost comparison
A hooklift bin costs more upfront than a single skip bin, but when you do the maths on volume and weight, hooklift bins are cheaper per cubic metre. Rule of thumb: if you're considering two or more standard skips, one hooklift bin will almost always be cheaper and easier.
A 15m³ hooklift bin at $1,450 holds the equivalent of roughly four standard 4m³ skip bins, but costs a fraction of hiring them separately. Plus you get one delivery and one collection instead of four.
